The ICOG CREDIT POINT System has been in place for quite a long time. It is a custom
to honour the Credit Points awarded at every Convocation of ICOG for the first time
they get the credit points awarded to them by ICOG.
The Governing Council of ICOG has decided to give these Credit points to the members
of FOGSI Societies who attend the scientific programmes like CMEs ,workshops or
conferences organized through FOGSI Societies.
Credit Point Evaluation for individuals is already on our Website. To get the scientific
programme accreditated by ICOG, the Organisers of FOGSI meetings have to send the
detail list of the Academic programme with topics, speakers and the time allotted
to the ICOG office, and a cc to uday_goa@sancharnet.in. This should be done as soon
as the programme is finalized. You will get the reply with allotted Credit Points
within the next 48 hours.
The Organisers can print these allotted Credit Points on their brochure/letter/attendance
certificate.
As per the decision taken in our Governing Council meeting, a member of FOGSI can
get elevated to Fellow of ICOG if 100 credit points are collected in 3 years ( no
publications or presentations and) if other criteria are fulfilled.
You are aware that the Medical Council of India has released a Notification stating
that certain Accreditation Hours are required in 5 years for renewal of the MBBS
degree by an individual. My request to FOGSI Societies who apply for ICOG Credit
Points to also apply for Credit Hours from their State Medical Council.
